Etobicoke Handspinners and Weavers Guild’s 50th Anniversary event

The Etobicoke Handspinners and Weavers Guild’s 50th Anniversary event, being celebrated at Neilson Park Creative Centre in Etobicoke from April 25 to May 15. They are one of six resident groups at the Centre and feel the theme of inspiration and sustainability is currently very relevant and should inspire and spark the interest of many people.

The “50 Mile Coat” – local materials and hand crafted!

They started by attending the shearing and the fleeces are being prepared in readiness for the ensuing jobs. These will be carried out during the exhibit at the Centre by our Guild members and local spinning and weaving friends. We also welcome members of the public who wish to try their hand in whatever activity is evolving when they visit.

The Exhibition

The Main Gallery will show case the wonderful and diverse creations of our EHS members along with the work on the “Coat”.

The Hall Gallery will be a Juried Show of work by NPCC’s other 5 resident groups - the entries, in their chosen field, having been ‘inspired by’ pictures of a variety of EHS material or work, colour, design, texture, etc.
